Things that inspire me
There’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover tomorrow,
Just you wait and see
There’ll be love and laughter and peace ever after tomorrow,

I am reading Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand. It’s quickly becoming my favorite book. The characters have every bit of integrity and dignity that the modern world casts away in favor of being fashionable, mod, ‘in”, stylish. In other words, the character’s qualities are steadfastness, a sort of ancient but not obsolete nobleness, when it is more apt to be courteous rather than trying to come out on top or be witty (although the characters are also witty). It’s an old world, full of cherished values that are washed away by the tumultuous, hot-tempered waves of today. It’s not legit; it’s legitimate. This book reveals that some past values are meant to be upheld.
